Michelle Iversen is a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Tennessee and Nationally board certified through the NCCAOM.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from LIU. During her time in undergrad, she pursued pre-medicine for a time. It was during a Tai Chi class she was taking that the professor showed the class a video of a Harvard doctor performing open brain surgery on a conscious patient using only acupuncture needles for anesthesia.
While Michelle had always been interested in holistic approaches to medicine, it was at this time she decided she would pursue Acupuncture instead of a career as an Anesthesiologist.
She went on to receive her Master’s degree from AOMA graduate school of integrative medicine in Austin TX.
Michelle has treated her mother for fibromyalgia for years, and so has a special interest in pain management; especially for people who are just prescribed pain meds and offered no other real options.
She has studied various styles of facial acupuncture treatment and is always interested in learning new techniques.
